| Wow, I haven't gotten around to Xanga at all in awhile, but now that the school yr is back, I'll try. :) If you live in Missouri, or are doing an absentee ballot and you are from Missouri, vote NO against Proposition 2, which IS FOR cloning! The Missouri Stem Cell
Research and Cures Initiative – also called Amendment 2. Among other
things, it claims that it would ban human cloning and the
buying and selling of human eggs. In fact, the amendment only
prohibits implanting a human clone in a woman – not creating a clone
for research purposes. In other words, it does allow embryonic clones to be made to be researched on!!! I care about people who are suffering with diseases, especially Parkinson's as I have an uncle who is suffering from it, but that doesn't mean I want to support research that makes life to kill life. I am FOR adult stem- cell research like from bone marrow and cord blood stem cell research which are the ONLY ones that are promising anyway. SEE: "For
more than two decades, we have been treating more than 58 different
types of diseases using adult stem cell research. Some of the most
startling advancements using adult stem cells have come in treating
Parkinson’s disease, juvenile diabetes, and spinal cord injuries. And
the sources for this adult stem cell research clearly do not present
any ethical problems because you use blood, placenta, fat cells, and,
most notably, the cord blood, ..." and "So
far, more than 6,000 patients and 66 diseases have been successfully
treated with neonatal cord blood stem cells, including hematological
malignancies such as leukemia and lymphoma; the immunodeficiency
diseases SCID, CID, CVID, and WAS; bone marrow failure syndromes;
hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia major;
and inborn errors of metabolism such as ADL, MLD, GLD, Tay-Sachs
disease, and MPS I, II, III, and IV. Because stem cells from cord blood
don’t cause nearly as much graft versus host disease, they do not need
a perfect match the way bone marrow does; as a result, a national
inventory of only 150,000 ethnically diverse cord blood stem cell units
will provide 80 percent of U.S. citizens with a suitable match." Quotes from: http://www.heritage.org/Research/HealthCare/hl888.cfm
People laughed at some who made predictions that in the future they would have Brave-New-World type scenarios with body part harvesting and baby factories for experimentation, but basically it is upon us.
South Dakotans uphold that ban, too. Californians vote yes on Proposition 85, and any other pro-life initiatives out there.

| Ugghh, I just got a telemarketing call from Planned Parenthood!! Ecch, they asked for me and pronounced my name right, and then said "hello..I'm blahblah from Planned Parenthood" My mouth drops open "and we're not selling anything today,or asking for money but are asking about legislation,policy, blahablah" I cut her off saying, "I don't support Planned Parenthood" CLICK That felt good. Then, I though what if they we're doing a survey and they got a pro-life young woman's views, but nahh they'd probably have cockamaney questions ayway, and skewed results.

| From here: http://www.cwnews.com/news/viewstory.cfm?recnum=43712 Pope Benedict XVI attended a concert in honor of the city of Rome's founding 2,759 years ago. The concert was also to honor the Holy Father on the 1st ann. of his election. Note this part: The
Holy Father thanked the Roman organizers of the concert, noting in
particular the selection of works by Mozart, well known as the
Pontiff's favorite composer. He mentioned that the Ave Verum,
with its "richly theological words," is an example of "music that
invites prayer." More generally, the Pope said that the beauty of music
"elevates the soul to contemplation," and reflects "the unlimited
beauty of the Creator of the universe." parI love it how the Holy Father says that the beauty of music "elevates the soul to contemplation.". Beautiful music in the Mass should do that. I like Christian rock and pop, as you can see by what I'm listening to below, but not for Mass. (Phatmass, a very cool, orthodox site, promotes Catholic musicians, especially hiphop, but not for Mass. )Unfortunately, at Mass I sometimes don't get the soul lifting music of tradition, so that's why I listen to the traditional stuff online or through Cd's . EWTN rocks !!!
